Hey there eNeighbors! We are still basking in the glow of Resurrection Sunday! We pray you had a wonderful time celebrating with your family, both related and church! A lot of you have been asking and it's been a while since we gave an update on our lives, so here's the latest. On the ministry front, this is our 30th year spreading God's good news! We are still traveling and doing concerts, just not at the hectic pace we used to keep. Phil is also celebrating over a year as the Minister of Music at Big Creek Baptist in Pleasant Hill, MO. It is a part-time position, but we have found that part-time hours in ministry are very similar to full-time hours anywhere else. The regular pay has really helped us keep all the bills covered and taken some pressure off us having to be gone so much to make a living. This is a huge blessing, because... Pam's mom, who is a very active 96, has fallen a few times earlier this year which prompted her move into an independent living facility. Pam and her sisters and family have been busy getting her set up in her beautiful new apartment and going through 70 years of accumulated stuff at her old house. Phil's mom is also doing good and on the waiting list to move into the same facility. We have been helping get her prepared and will have plenty to do when a room opens up. We are at the stage in life where our moms need extra care and we are thrilled to be able to help them. Phil is still enjoying woodworking when he has some spare time and creating some pretty neat pieces. You can see his latest in the Gallery at www.HarmonyHeartwood.com. Pam is still helping people with their skincare needs as a Mary Kay Consultant. She continues to make custom imprinted shirts and items and is enjoying our little slower pace to catch up on her scrapbooking hobby. Our daughter, Kayla, and her husband Kyle live close to us and both work at Cerner which is now Oracle. They have escaped the recent massive layoffs and still have jobs to support their growing family including Alec, our first grandson! He will be one next month and is awesome (no, we are not biased). He loves to hang with his Papa Phil and read books and nap with his Grammy Pam. Our daughter, Alisha, is living her dream of working and living in New York. She is still our world traveler and just got back from a two week business trip to China. We get to explore vicariously through her stories and pictures!! And of course, thank you to everyone who allows us to continue sharing our testimony and music by being Ministry Partners. You are family and we are honored to represent you as we keep pointing people to Jesus! Until next time... Click Here to Check our Concert Schedule! In honor of our 30th ministry anniversary, I've been going back through our archives and reminiscing on what God has done. Wow! I found some devotions that are deserve a second look, so for the rest of the month, let's celebrate God faithfulness (and maybe enjoy a laugh along the way!) Give Your Rear End To Jesus (It Makes All the "Differential")- April 2, 2010 Have you ever heard the saying, "God helps those who help themselves?" That's not in the Bible (Ben Franklin said it by the way). No,...
It's Personal by Phil This Sunday we celebrate the apex of the Christian year - Resurrection Sunday, also known as Easter! Most of the year we strive to remember that "it's not about me." We are not the center of our universe, God is, and everything revolves around Him. The message of this season is the exact opposite - "it's all about me." God's love for us is so great, even if you or I were the only person in need, Jesus would have still died on that cross. The crucifixion is the ultimate...
The Distance Between Blessed and Blessing by Phil A popular phrase over the past several years is "Pay it forward." According to Google's AI overview, "Pay it forward" means to repay a kindness you receive by doing a good deed for someone else, rather than paying back the original person, creating a chain reaction of generosity. Instead of returning a favor directly, you pass on the goodwill to a new person, often a stranger, with the hope that they will do the same for someone else. In our...
